I acquired this hat either at the end of high school or towards the beginning of college. It has an interesting design. The “G” is encased in plastic. I remember having to bend the plastic part to get it to fit the way I wanted it to fit. It is made of 100% cotton. It was manufactured by Sports Specialties, which was actually the first company ever to acquire a sports license. They started making ash trays and bobbleheads for the Chicago Cubs. They became the largest hat manufacturer by the 90’s and Nike bought them out in 1992. They acted as a subsidiary for a few years and then were gradually faded out.
